TAMPIN: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived here today for a half-day official visit to Negeri Sembilan.
He arrived at the Tampin Mini Stadium, here at 11.55am on board a helicopter and was greeted by Works Minister Datuk Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tampin, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and state Barisan Nasional leaders.
Shortly after arrival, Muhyiddin, who was accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, made a courtesy call on the Tunku Besar Tampin, Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri at the Balai Tunku Besar Tampin, here and left half-an-hour later.
The Deputy Prime Minister later attended the official opening of the additional building at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Kampung Baru, here at 12.40pm.
Muhyiddin was scheduled to attend a gathering of the leader with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the Tampin parliamentary constituency and the Repah state constituency at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Indah field at 2pm.
Shortly after, Muhyiddin was scheduled to perform the 'Asar' prayer before attending a gathering with all the imam and nazir throughout Tampin at the Surau Taman Indah before departing for Kuala Lumpur at 5pm. -- BERNAMA
